Unit 33 Lens Based Image Making

Portfolio

Images from last 2 years:

Experimental work from image manipulation and ideas and concepts units-

I experimented using a scanner and different photoshop techniques. Different briefs for ideas and concepts helped me create some unique images.

Pinhole photography-

We turned our dslr cameras into pinhole cameras and captured images at Arnos Vale.

Abandoned photos from Location Unit-

I photographed at some abandoned places for the sense of place project. I like how the photo can show how creepy the place is.

Studio Photography-

I experimented with different studio lighting and techniques in this course. This has helped me make my portraits look more professional.

End Of Year Show:

I used my final images from my final major project in the end of year show. I had 15 of them printed in A4 and 2 in A3, I chose to do this because I think it will look more interesting with different size prints.
I decided to mount each of my images. I did this by measuring the size of my print, Iadded 5cm to each side and cut this size mount board. After I measured out the 5cm border on the back of the board. I cut out the middle and used the mount cutter with a blade that I would get a beveled edge. I then used tape to put my photo in place.

This is my work on display:

Evaluation

I am experimented with lots of different types of photography in the 2 years of this course. Ive tried dark room photography, different studio techniques, scanography and experimenting with long exposure. This will help me a lot with I study at Plymouth University.
I chose abandoned photography as my final project and this is definitely something I want to carry on with. Finding new places and better ways to capture the decaying buildings.
